Job description

This company is a high-growth manufacturer based in Louisa, Virginia, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, coatings, and the design and build of turnkey mechanical systems. In addition to full system integration and production, we also design custom equipment and collaborate with customers to refine and optimize their product designs. Our capabilities include UL 508A industrial control panels and electrical assemblies as part of broader engineered solutions.

What You’ll Do:

As our Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be the mastermind behind turning customer ideas into real, bendable,

weldable, manufacturable parts. You will design, improve, troubleshoot, and help streamline how to bring

sheet metal projects from concept to finished product.


Daily Tasks:

 Design and develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD tools (Inventor).

 Develop designs that are efficient, accurate, and manufacturable.

 Produce clear, thorough drawings and specifications to ensure alignment across teams.

 Support production by designing parts that are easy to fabricate, minimizing wasted materials,

assembly headaches, and unexpected delays.

 Anticipate and solve fabrication challenges – turning potential mistakes into successful builds.

 Collaborate across functions – sales, quality, production, and efficiency – keeping projects on

track.

 Continuously improves processes, share innovative ideas, and help standardize best practices to

make the team stronger every day.

 Drawing and document management in compliance with AS9100.


What You Bring:

Mechanical Engineering degree or related field plus 5 years’ experience.

Proficiency in CAD software such as Inventor.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Manufacturing processes experience to include sheet metal and welding.

Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
