Mechanical Engineering Intern
Interns are expected to work in the Logan, UT office part time while in school and has the potential for full time work during the summer.
Job Summary
Responsible for working with the Engineering Design team to design, develop and validate Juniper Systems products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for aiding in conceptualizing, designing, and the specifying of product assemblies and components
  • Assists in developing and implementing timely solutions for company product ECOs
  • Provides suggestions, required analysis, and technical guidance on the latest relevant technologies needed for assigned projects
  • Testing and validating products and components
  • Manage 3D printers and tasks for multiple projects, including slicing and optimizing for print time/quality
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Candidates must have completed at least the last semester of their sophomore year in a Mechanical Engineering program at a four-year college or university. Requires a working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD package, detail drawing experience, plastic part design, sheet metal design, and Microsoft Office products. Hands-on experience in building fixtures or similar mechanical devices preferred. Manufacturing or production experience is helpful. Instrumentation, sensor or test data collection skills desired. Experience with 3D printers and 3D printing processes is required.
Working Conditions
This is a part-time position that requires at least 20 hours per week. Schedule will be determined by class schedule. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and use of hands. Must be able to see, speak, and type.
