The objective of the Pathway Engineering team work is to provide and improve the infrastructure of the university's physical network layer.  This is done by installing and terminating copper and fiber data cabling throughout the university campus and hospital buildings.  The ServiceNow ticketing system aids in orchestrating the prioritization of installations on which the intern may work.  Occasionally escort contractors and/or vendors around campus and provide them access to communication rooms.
This is a Category I position:  Mandatory Required on Campus or at Health Care Facilities.
Responsibilities
Willingness to learn about physical networking, copper data cabling, and fiber optics and cabling.
No prior knowledge of data copper for fiber optic cabling is necessary. On-the-job training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications Preferences
Student studying Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or CS/IS majors.
