Job description

Principal Function of the Position:
Engineering intern students at Unverferth are an integral part of the Design Engineering team. Design Engineer Co-Ops will be responsible for completing tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the Design Engineering Supervisor and multiple Design Engineers the co-op student will acquire real world experience in the field of design engineering.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Design Engineering Staff as assigned with day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Complete detailing work for multiple Unverferth Mfg. products.
  • Complete accurate drawings for Unverferth Mfg. small parts and assemblies.
  • Assist in the set up and completion of product testing.
  • Gain a good understanding and operation of Unverferth Mfg. filing system.
  • Learn and become proficient in the company ERP/MRP software and the engineering software programs such as Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, attitude, and communication with fellow employees and customers
  • All other relevant duties/projects as assigned by management.

Pre- Requisitions:
Prefer a minimum of two years working toward a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related discipline or field of study. Prior familiarity and/or hands-on experience with agricultural equipment and farming operations would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity in internal / external product support function.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity in dealing with external customers, dealers and/or vendors.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with performing face-to-face training programs / presentations.
  • Possess proficient written, verbal and telephone communications skills.
  • Possess proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, etc.
