About this opportunity:

The Strategic Sourcing / Value Creation (SCM) intern will work closely with our supply chain/commodity management team, reading and analyzing mechanical drawings, sourcing parts and communicating with suppliers. Work will be guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. The intern will work under close supervision and receive detailed instructions on all work assignments. Once proficiency in the tasks is achieved, the intern will be given more complex duties. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members with guidance.

  • Review supply & demand with price-cost analysis for value creation projects

  • Costed Bill of Materials analysis

  • Draft Value Add proposals for submission to internal and external customers

  • Maintain internal and customer project reporting trackers

  • Drive project execution and closure with global site program managers

  • Access the Defense Logistics Agency website for suitable alternatives suppliers to resolve clear-to-build issues

  • Cost estimates for new bids and/or cost savings change management

  • Supplier and Customer facing role

  • Generate ideas to automate and streamline manual processes.

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Salary

The range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.

The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non-negotiable as per company policy.

Hourly Wage: $22.50-25.50 CAD/hr
