Job Summary:
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is focused on advancing national defense through cutting-edge technology. They are seeking an AI/ML Engineering Intern to assist in the development, testing, and deployment of machine learning models and AI-driven solutions, contributing to real-world projects in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models for various business use cases
• Support data collection, preprocessing, cleaning, and feature engineering tasks
• Help build scalable ML pipelines and contribute to model deployment efforts
• Conduct research on new algorithms, frameworks, and tools to improve model performance
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into applications or systems
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and agile development processes
• Analyze results, prepare reports, and present findings to project stakeholders
• Troubleshoot issues and help optimize existing models or workflows
Qualifications:
Required:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and feature engineering
• Experience with Python and ML libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic software engineering practices

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Clearance: May be required to obtain a secret security clearance
