Position Description
As an Intern at BEAR Construction, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of construction. This internship program is designed to provide you with valuable insights into the construction industry. You will work closely with our experienced team, contributing to real projects and learning the ropes of the construction business.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and
  • policies
  • Coordinate the procurement of permits and inspections with local jurisdictions
  • Work closely with the project team in the development of bid packages, scopes of work, construction schedules and site utilization programs
  • Work to develop, drive and implement project goals as a core member of a dedicated team
  • Learn and use any/all applicable company software programs
  • Manage and maintain a detailed document submittal and request for information (RFI) processes
  • Work with the project team to expedite materials, deliveries, and equipment
  • Preparation and distribution of meeting agenda and minutes
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status
  • Manage the project close-out and punch list process
  • Assist project managers in planning and executing construction projects.
  • Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Support procurement efforts by assisting with material and equipment orders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including blueprints and reports.
  • Contribute to project scheduling and budgeting tasks.
  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols and regulations at all times.

Position Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., civil engineering, construction management).
  • Results-driven ability to effectively manage and follow-up on multiple priorities• Be organized and team oriented.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, staff, vendors, and clients
  • Commitment to quality and attention-to-detail
  • Proficient with industry standard computer skills and software (MS Office, Excel & Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Strong interest in the construction industry.
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and terminology is a plus.
  • Reliable and eager to learn.

Duration:
This internship position is a 3-month program, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
Location:
The internship is based on-site and in the field.
