Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience working on real-world engineering projects, supporting product design, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering (or a related field) and is eager to apply classroom knowledge in a practical, fast-paced environment.
This role is located at our Global Headquarters in Neponset, IL and is anticipated to last 8-10 weeks. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation processes
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and product development
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation
Qualifications:- Currently enrolled and completed two years toward a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, etc.)
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
