Job Description Summary

This position operates, monitors and adjusts the packaging equipment in a manner consistent with safety, food safety, quality, and production standards.
Job Description
  • Monitors Line Sanitation, Ink-jet coder, Bagger operation, Dyna-pack operation, Settlers and Case sealersÂ

  • Performs routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors. Â

  • Monitors line flow rates. Including regular checks for proper feed of product through baggers.Â

  • Monitors and adjust vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance.Â

  • Orders packaging material Â

  • Ensures proper container sizing Â

  • Records packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and fills out reports accurately and correctly. Â

  • Responsible for ensuring complete packaging quality of product taking regular checks or weights, seals codes, glue patterns, etc. Â

  • Complete CIL’s and centerlines. Â

  • Participates in AMD Drumbeats. Â

  • Reworks product when necessary.Â

  • Performs other duties as assigned.Â

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:Â
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Â

  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements. Â

  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location). Â

  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.  Â

  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility. Â

  • Ability to perform basic math functions, required. Â

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Â

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.  Â

  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperatureÂ

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include:  loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies  Â

  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.  Â

  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.  Â

  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipmentÂ

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Â

  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant OperationÂ
