We're looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE:
As a CAD Designer at nVent Management Company, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team, contributing to world-class builds and innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for metal enclosures, panels, brackets, and assemblies.
  • Converting customer specifications, sketches, and engineering concepts into comprehensive manufacturing drawings.
  • Generating flat patterns for sheet metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, and bending.
  • Revising drawings based on engineering changes and production feedback to ensure flawless execution.
  • Ensuring all drawings align with strict tolerances, material specifications, and industry standards.
  • Collaborating closely with production, quality, and purchasing teams to determine build feasibility and cost efficiency.
  • Maintaining organized drawing databases and document control procedures.
  • Supporting prototype development and production troubleshooting when required.

YOU HAVE

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar, along with a strong understanding of sheet metal build principles, bend allowances, and tolerances, preferred.
  • The capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, along with familiarity with manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, CNC punching, and press brake operations, preferred.
  • Remarkable care for detail and exactness, good communication and collaborative skills, and the skill to manage numerous projects while meeting deadlines.
  • The role requires physical and environmental capability to work in an office and on the manufacturing floor. Occasional visits to the shop floor are needed to verify measurements or resolve production issues.
