Responsibilities

Technica Corporation is seeking a Postgres Database Administrator SME.ย  ย The Database Administrator designs, implements, and maintains moderately complex databases. This role is responsible for maintaining database dictionaries, ensuring the integration of systems through effective database design, and administering and testing computer databases by applying a deep knowledge of database management systems. Additionally, the Database Administrator coordinates changes to computer databases and may plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases.
  • Maintain database dictionaries and ensure the integration of various systems through effective database design.
  • Administer and test computer databases, utilizing knowledge of database management systems.
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases to ensure data integrity and system efficiency.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect computer databases from unauthorized access or data breaches.

The position would be located at a government facility in Washington, D.C. and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

The annual base salary range for this position is $139,000 - $145,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Active Top-Secret with SCI and CI Poly eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 10 years of Database Administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in database management systems.
  • Ability to design and maintain complex databases.
  • Experience with database administration and testing.
  • Knowledge of security measures and techniques to safeguard computer databases.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to manage database changes and integration.
