CMC Group, located in Bowling Green, Ohio, is seeking a Database Administrator. Summary of Position: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented DevOps-Azure Database Administrator to join our technology team. The position will be required to apply DevOps practices (ie.CI/CD pipelines, projects, resources, and map all sources of code), deploy services to Azure, manage cloud infrastructure, manage databases, integrate API`s (including being the main point of contact for customer IT for API setup/testing, automate manual processes), monitor Azure server and database performance and trends, and providing or working with partners to resolve gaps or improvement.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor and Manage system reliability and architecture in both DevOps and Azure cloud environments with internal and external partners.
  • Provision and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Build and maintain Azure CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments across multiple environments (Dev, Staging, Prod).
  • Oversee the performance and security of Azure SQL and PostgreSQL databases. Perform routine maintenance, backups, disaster recovery drills, and query optimization. Review and resolve database anomalies with internal and customer contacts.
  • Manage RBAC, application secrets, and network security groups in accordance with company policies, industry best practices and compliance standards.ย 
  • Monitor cloud spend, identify waste, and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce Azure costs.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to support application development and reporting needs.
  • Main point of contact for customer(s) IT or technical contact to set up and confirm viability of API integrations and deployments pre/post launch.
  • Perform regular security audits and apply patches and updates as needed.ย 
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a DevOps Specialist/Engineer, Azure environments, and DBA or in a similar role.ย 
  • Proficiency in database languages such as SQL.ย 
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.ย 
  • Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and security practices.ย 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.ย 
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps, Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle DBA, or similar.ย 
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
