Job description

Immediate need for a talented SQL DBA. This is a 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Omaha NE (Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $35 - $40/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
  • Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Implement and maintain database security (roles, permissions, encryption).
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell).
  • Collaborate with developers for query optimization and schema design.
  • Maintain documentation for database configurations and processes.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Must have skills: SQL DBA, Automation, Azure SQL, AWS RDS, T-SQL, PowerShell.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups, replication, and clustering.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
