SUMMARY
A detail-oriented data curator responsible for organizing, entering, reviewing, and managing scientific information. This role requires strong scientific literacy, sound judgment, and the ability to accurately interpret and categorize technical content.
This is an information-management position, not a laboratory role. The successful candidate will work extensively with scientific records and data in a capacity similar to a specialized science librarian-maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and usability of scientific information so it can be efficiently located and applied.
The position is highly specialized, and comprehensive training will be provided on all relevant systems, procedures, terminology, and standards.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the client level.
  • Strong academic foundation in chemistry, biochemistry, and biology, including a full year of organic chemistry.
  • Skilled in reading, interpreting, and managing scientific and technical information with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational abilities and excels in structured, repetitive work while maintaining precision.
  • Adept at learning specialized databases, terminology, and classification systems.
  • Possesses strong written communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively in a detail-intensive environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enter, review, organize, classify, and maintain scientific information in designated databases and information-management systems.
  • Read and interpret scientific materials in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and related disciplines to ensure accuracy and appropriate categorization.
  • Apply scientific knowledge to classify records, select proper terminology, and identify relationships within data sets.
  • Review incoming information for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with established procedures and standards.
  • Identify missing, conflicting, or potentially incorrect data and escalate questions for further review as needed.
  • Manage multiple information-processing tasks while consistently meeting accuracy, quality, and productivity expectations.
  • Follow established data-governance, confidentiality, quality-control, and records-management requirements.
  • Collaborate with scientists, subject-matter experts, information specialists, and cross-functional team members.
  • Learn and apply specialized scientific vocabularies, classification systems, databases, and FDA-specific procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, chemistry is preferred.
