SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains gas, electric, pneumatic tools, and compressors by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
(Other duties may be assigned)
Observes mechanical devises in operation and views and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Repairs or replaces defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devises. Lubricates and cleans parts.
Start devices to test their performance.
Set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to repair parts.
Cleans and organizes work area daily.
Adjusts functional parts or devices and control instruments.
Inspects used parts to determined changes in dimensional requirements.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Assists with modification of tools when needed.
Assist with physical inventories.
Assist another department's when needed.
Windows office (word/Excel spread sheets)
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school; nine months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write general report and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to operate general office equip such as PC, fax machine calculator etc. General knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
