Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for all supervisory activities related to the assembly of medical device products in the production department. The supervisor is responsible for the manufacture of products by directing production activities and coordination of assembly team members to accomplish the requirements, supervise workers in order to execute production goals. This position will report directly to the Assembly Manager.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Responsible for overseeing assembly department activities.
  • Supervises assembly production to ensure overall manufacturing practices are followed.
  • Direct supervision over Assembly Department staff to include providing corrective action, performance reviews, and employee timekeeping and time off requests.
  • Working directly with the Assembly Manager, train and coach all assembly team members with assembly procedures, final test procedures, packaging and labeling, test procedures, safety and other procedures to ensure the quality of workmanship.
  • Ensure employees stations are well equipped.
  • Strong ability to follow all good documentation and good manufacturing practices.
  • Coordinates with the set- up person for any tool issues, any issues with the assembly Procedures, Test procedures, or equipment to be reported to the assembly manager.
  • Ensure that the verification sheet has been signed by the assembly personnel by signing and approving the first piece being assembled.
  • Responsible for reporting production to the assembly manager.
  • Work with the assembly manager to establish work priorities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all assigned employees are working only on products that they have been trained.
  • Coordinate calibration of all applicable equipment, tools and fixtures with calibration team.
  • Performs final assembly, subassemblies, final test, packaging and labeling to assure quality.
  • Support environmental monitoring of assigned areas.
  • Notify assembly manager of discrepancies.
  • Follow production schedule.
  • Assemble products according to manufacturing procedures and other applicable company procedures.
  • Partners with the Assembly Manager to asses and solve production floor issues.
  • Work with the assembly manager to provide feedback to the assemblers.
  • Make recommendations to facility the management for methods of improving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS amp; QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand company documents such as operating / manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Computer skills including word, excel and other Microsoft platforms.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Lead team by example with integrity.
  • Read and understand drawings assembly and test procedures.
  • Coordinate calibration for all test equipment and fixtures
  • Assist team with any protocol questions or concerns.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a high school diploma or Equivalent. Minimal of 5 Years’ experience in supervisory in an industrial field. Reading and understanding drawings, assembly and test procedures.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to read and understand all standard and operating procedures. Ability to learn quickly. Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS:
While undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the employee must repeatedly sit, listen, speak, type and move throughout the facility and must be capable of using a keyboard for computer purposes.
