Exum Instruments is redefining high-powered scientific measurement and analysis. Our patented mass spectrometry technology simplifies complex data, making advanced instruments more accessible across industries. Our customers include leaders in batteries, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, national labs, and government research.


The Role

Weโ€™re seeking an enthusiastic Assembly Technician to help lead the charge as we bring production in-house. This includes building sub-assemblies, systems, and final assemblies while conducting basic quality control steps along the way, as well as helping to build upon our existing processes/documentation. You will be the second person to join the production/assembly department and there is a direct growth path towards becoming Assembly Tech 2 and beyond to support Exumโ€™s rapid growth.


What Youโ€™ll Do

Own the build process of the Massbox product:

o  Part preparation and basic inspection

o  Sub-assembly and kitting

o  Final assembly and QC/QA steps


Support general production needs:

o  Massbox production and crating when shipping finished product

o  Accessories assembly/kitting for sale

o  Help others maintain clean workstations and an organized warehouse/inventory


Documentation:

o  Use existing build instructions and workflows while helping to improve or creating new

o  Drive efficiency with ideas; identify improvements and easier ways to do something

What You Bring

  • No degree necessary, but experience required in mechanical or electrical systems or related technologies
  • 3-5 years in assembly/production roles related to complex systems and/or electronics
  • Direct experience troubleshooting assemblies and systems
  • Hands-on experience in analytical instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices, or optics/lasers is preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD systems, quality systems, UL/CE standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to work with multi-step processes, solve problems, create and use documentation, and thrive in changing environments
  • Ideal candidates have experience at scientific instrument, aerospace, automotive, or medical companies
