Job description

Six Pixels Film & STEM Academy (www.sixpixelsfilmacademy.com) is a creative youth education program offering fun, engaging, hands-on classes and special events in moviemaking, stop motion, art and animation, video production and editing, movie acting, puppetry, set and prop design, cosplay and character development, and STEAM fundamentals such as robotics, circuitry, CAD design, and 3-D printing, all wrapped around a unique STEAM-enriched, story-centric curriculum.

We help children explore STEAM in a safe, collaborative, active, and social environment, promoting teamwork, confidence, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking. We are currently hiring a part-time instructor (10-15 hours per week) for youth stop motion and animation after-school programs, filmmaking workshops, and special events. Will train on the curriculum, previous teaching experience preferred; video editing experience a plus.

Job Details:

  • After-school programs are taught at several schools across the Houston region, typically between the hours of 2-5pm; locations and times will vary each day, so instructors need reliable transportation to be able to arrive early, set up equipment, teach class, and break down after class. Camps and special events are held at our studio in the North Houston area.
  • When not teaching, instructors will assist with video editing and community outreach activities to increase brand awareness and drive customer engagement.

Requirements:
  • Since the candidate will be working closely with children, they must pass a background check and drug test. Please don't apply if you can't pass both.
  • Candidate must also have a reliable form of transportation as travel is required.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates can submit a resume and cover letter to Sarah Miller at sarah@sixpixelsfilmacademy.com
