Job description

CREA Interactivity is an interactive playspace where children participate in immersive physically active adventures with themes about protecting the environment. Children also participate in STEAM-inspired educational research and creative arts, crafts and science projects. They learn about different environmental challenges to understand causes and find solutions to care for the planet. We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced animators to teach children ages 4โ€“12 in STEAM-based learning activities with a strong focus on environmental themes. 


Key Responsibilities and Experience Required:

Instruction and Mentoring:

  • Lead workshops and activities focused on concept art, modeling, animation and game design theory. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital art, a love for working with kids, and the ability to explain complex concepts in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate manner. 
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students as they work on their animation projects
  • Foster a collaborative and creative atmosphere within our design Lab
  • Work with CREA staff to design, develop, and revise curriculum accordingly

Supervision and Safety:

  • Supervise students during activities to ensure safety protocols are followed. Maintain a safe and organized workspace.

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing or completing a degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Art, or a related field.
  • Experience in game design and/or animation desirable 
  • Proficient in software and tools related to game design (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine), design (Procreate, Canva) animation (e.g., Blender, Adobe Animate, Premier Pro, After Effects, Maya, and Canva)
  • Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is highly desirable


Work Environment:

  • Teaching may take place in a classroom or our design lab
  • Flexible hours, including after-school or weekend classes
