We are seeking a Business Systems Manager – Logistics to manage and oversee the company’s internal information systems that support logistics operations, fleet management, dispatch, compliance, and corporate functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing IT operations and business systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient support for the company’s logistics and transportation activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate internal information systems and electronic data processing operations supporting logistics and transportation activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to business systems, data processing, system security, and IT operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal IT projects, including the integration, deployment, maintenance, and upgrade of logistics-related systems.
  • Manage and support internal systems such as transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch platforms, fleet and telematics systems, internal business applications, and the company website.
  • Supervise internal IT staff responsible for system development, maintenance, and support.
  • Plan and control budgets related to IT operations, systems, software, and services.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, and manage IT incidents affecting business operations.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure business systems align with operational and organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience Requirements
    • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Five years of progressive experience managing information systems, IT operations, or business systems within an enterprise or corporate environment is required.
    • Demonstrated technical and managerial skills related to internal systems management, IT operations, and cross-functional coordination are required.
  • Required Skills and Technical Knowledge
    • Transportation Management Systems (TMS): expertise in platforms such as Fleet Manager, McLeod, TMW, Oracle Transportation Management, MercuryGate, or similar
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): proficiency in Manhattan Associates, SAP EWM, Blue Yonder, or comparable platforms
    • Data analytics and business intelligence tools: advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas)
    • Deep understanding of logistics operations including freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and last-mile delivery
    • Business process mapping and workflow optimization using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaize.
    • Requirements gathering and documentation for system implementations and enhancements
    • Agile/Scrum or Waterfall project management methodologies

    • Strong understanding of internal business systems used in logistics and transportation environments
