Job description

Expanding Michigan firm with a critical role for a Survey CAD Technician is hiring in Detroit!


Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic mathematics calculations (pipe slopes, areas, volumes, etc.)
  • Detail/develop construction plans
  • Maintain uniformity in work products by reading/following CAD Standards and Operating Procedures (standards, conventions, guidelines)
  • Review/check plans for accuracy
  • Provide an estimate of man hours required to complete CAD projects
  • Process engineering calculations and site plan/utility layout with minimal supervision
  • Process existing/proposed profiles
  • Plot legal descriptions for parcels, easement, and right of ways
  • Import survey data into Civil 3D
  • Produce boundary, topographical, ALTA and as-built surveys
  • Generate stake-out coordinates/plot information for field crew

 

Requirements:    

  • High school diploma or minimum of five years of civil engineering/surveying computer aided drafting experience
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years of professional CAD experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015, Microstation V8, and GeoPAK preferred
  • Ability to use station offset methods to set points
  • Solid understanding of metric system with ability to convert between metric and English
  • Experience reading/comprehending simple instructions, correspondence and memos
  • Experience presenting information to in one-on-one and small group settings
     


Salary is commensurate with experience.
