Job Summary:
The 3D CAD Engineer is responsible for generating high-quality 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and blueprints in support of the design and manufacturing of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) self-contained power generation systems. The role ensures that all models and drawings comply with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, and supports engineering, manufacturing, and configuration management teams by delivering precise, production-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
·      Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models for piping, mechanical, and process systems using approved CAD software.
·      Produce accurate engineering drawings and blueprints that comply with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and aerospace-quality manufacturing practices.
·      Collaborate with engineers, metrology, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, functional, and meet project requirements.
·      Support configuration management by maintaining organized CAD files and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.
·      Assist in design reviews and provide technical input on manufacturability, tolerances, and fit.
·      Update and revise drawings as required based on engineering changes, field feedback, or manufacturing needs.
·      Maintain adherence to departmental standards and best practices for CAD modeling and documentation.

Qualifications:
·      Technical certification in CAD, drafting, or a related engineering/technical discipline preferred.
·      Proven experience in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing generation in a manufacturing environment.
·      Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
·      Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing practices preferred.
·      Proficient in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo).
·      Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
·      Experience with configuration-controlled design environments is a plus.

Preferred Skills:
·      Experience in power generation, modular systems, or complex industrial equipment.
·      Exposure to advanced metrology or measurement methods to support design verification.
·      Ability to support both office-based design and field engineering requirements.
