Job Description:

  • The Drafter 2 position requires 2-5 years of drafting experience. An Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design is preferred.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for CAD drafting related to transmission line centerline, right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys.
  • The role will also involve interpreting and preparing “metes and bounds” and “centerline” descriptions for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CAD drafting for transmission line centerline, right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys.
  • Interpret and prepare metes and bounds and centerline descriptions for assigned projects.
  • Support survey field crews and office personnel with drafting and survey-related activities.
  • Research existing survey records and real estate records.
  • Contact local and state agencies to obtain right-of-way information.
  • Incorporate researched information into project documentation and drawings.
  • Prepare and transmit completed projects in accordance with established requirements.
  • Collaborate with field crews and office personnel to ensure accurate and timely project completion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of drafting experience.
  • Experience with CAD drafting and survey-related drawings.
  • Ability to interpret technical survey information and legal descriptions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to research survey, real estate, and right-of-way records.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
