Job Summary:

The CAD Engineer at SAGE Integration is responsible for using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems to create, revise, and maintain electronic technical drawings for complex integrated security systems. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient design solutions for building infrastructure, electrical layouts, and security technology systems.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare detailed CAD drawings of complex integrated security systems.
  • Design and implement electrical infrastructure for security systems.
  • Translate hand sketches and field notes into electronic CAD files.
  • Redesign and revise existing drawings based on markups, field changes, and updated specifications.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and designs.
  • Document and maintain records of all drawings and design changes.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with internal quality and drafting standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to support accurate installations.
  • Visit local job sites as needed for physical validation of design accuracy.
  • Support compliance with engineering and drafting regulations and company procedures.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Visio to develop design layouts and schematics.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design, or related Technology field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar CAD-related position.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio
    • Familiarity with security system designs and electrical schematics
    • Strong understanding of drafting standards and conventions
