Position Overview:

We are seeking aย hands-on Electrical Engineerย with strong experience inย test equipment design, setup, and integration. The selected individual will be responsible for developing and commissioning custom test systems to support validation and production testing activities. This role requires both solid electrical engineering fundamentals and practical, hands-on experience building and troubleshooting test setups.ย 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and developย electrical test setups and fixturesย for validation, production, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Create and maintainย electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Select, configure, and integrate test instrumentation including power supplies, sensors, signal conditioners, DAQs, and controllers.
  • Assemble, wire, and debugย test benches and control panelsย in lab or production environments.
  • Develop and documentย test procedures, calibration instructions, and setup configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems) to ensure complete and reliable test solutions.
  • Supportย on-site installation, setup, and verificationย of test systems at the customer facility.
  • Diagnose and resolveย test system performance issuesย through systematic troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenshipย (due to program requirements).
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree inย Electrical Engineeringย or a related field.
  • Minimumย 5 years of experienceย in test equipment design, setup, or integration within aerospace, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency inย electrical circuits, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience building and wiringย test fixtures, harnesses, or control panels.
  • Familiarity withย electrical CAD toolsย (AutoCAD Electrical, E3, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge ofย data acquisition systemsย (e.g., NI LabVIEW, PXI, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience withย automated test systemsย orย hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)ย environments.
  • Exposure toย aerospace component testingย or regulated electrical systems.
  • Familiarity withย PLC programming, LabVIEW scripting, or Python automation.
  • Prior experience supporting customers or facilities in theย Rockford, ILย area.
