We are seeking an experienced and motivated CAD Manager to lead our drafting and design team in Georgetown, Texas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing organization that specializes in electrical control panel manufacturing, industrial automation, and municipal utility projects.

The CAD Manager will oversee a team of CAD Drafters while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of engineering drawings used throughout the design and manufacturing process. This individual will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Production Teams, Engineers, and Leadership to develop efficient drafting standards, improve processes, and deliver high-quality design documentation that supports successful project execution.

Position Summary

The CAD Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the CAD Department, leading a team of CAD Drafters, maintaining drafting standards, and overseeing the creation and revision of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment assembly drawings for custom control panel manufacturing.

This role combines technical drafting expertise with people leadership, process improvement, project coordination, and quality assurance responsibilities. The successful candidate will ensure all drawings are accurate, compliant with company standards, and delivered on schedule while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of CAD Drafters.

  • Assign workloads and manage department priorities to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to drafting personnel.

  • Conduct drawing reviews and quality checks to maintain high standards.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.

  • Assist in training, onboarding, and developing drafting team members.

Design & Drafting Oversight

  • Oversee the creation, revision, and maintenance of:

    • Electrical schematics

    • Wiring diagrams

    • Control panel layouts

    • Equipment assembly drawings

    • Manufacturing documentation

  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and industry requirements.

  • Review engineering documentation, specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Analyze production markups and implement revisions to reflect as-built conditions.

  • Verify proper component selection and drawing accuracy before release to production.

  • Develop designs based on customer contracts, project specifications, and engineering requirements.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to review upcoming projects and establish drafting priorities.

  • Ensure drawing deliverables are completed according to project schedules and milestones.

  • Participate in project planning discussions and provide technical drafting input.

  • Coordinate with production teams to resolve design issues and improve manufacturability.

  • Support engineering and operations teams during project execution.

Process Improvement & Quality Control

Customer & Technical Support
