Role Summary

Operate non-contact laser scanning equipment (CMM/Romer) effectively in order to control processes or to assist with problem solving while maintaining sensitive metrology equipment to ensure performance of the devices. The opening is located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the Group Leader of Metrology. 


Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced metrology equipment to control processes and solve problems
  • Support manufacturing team equipment and process capability analysis
  • Execute product and process validation / inspection plans
  • Assist in performing and teaching all processes and assignments within the department, with the ability to fill in as needed
  • Identify and contain suspect defective material Inspect, test or measure components, products and materials being produced. Report inspection and test data.
  • Continually work to control and improve manufacturing processes performance
  • Responsible to participate in quality related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within responsible area
  • May need to perform other duties as needed

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience with the technology (CMM, Portable scanners)
  • + Level-1 Qualifications
  • The user can make medium/complex measurement programs, and templates (Polyworks, Zeiss, GOM Suite.. ). The user can also update and define extraction settings in Polyworks.
  • User can perform photogrammetry to pre-measure reference targets with minimal guidance
  • User can adjust measuring principals to address unextracted data in GOM Inspect
  • User can create inspection features, alignments, and element checks in GOM Inspect
  • Intermediate GD&T skills - Understands and can explain tolerance zones created by GD&T controls, can explain MMC/LMC, can identify basic problems with GD&T application (i.e. perpendicularity with no reference to datum)
  • The user has basic knowledge of Catia and can navigate and download the Cad files.
  • The user can create a datum scheme from a blueprint or CAD model.
  • Experience in liaising with internal and external customers.
  • User can create alignment of fixtures (Check fixture/PCF) based on datums of the assembly related to the fixture.
  • The user can verify the datum holes and net pads from the fixture CAD model.
  • The user can correlate the part cad to the fixture cad and verify accordingly.

Pay Disclosure
Hourly Rate Range for Illinois Based Applicants: The hourly rate range for this role is $32 - $35.75 for Illinois based applicants.  This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
