About the Roleโ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏ

The CAD Designer/Drafter is responsible for taking inputs provided by sales and R&D engineers and using them to create models and drawings that meet engineering and customer requirements. Iterating previous CAD models and adapting current ones to match the requested changes/improvements, flagging space and interference concerns, and collaborating to developโ€ฏmodels.โ€ฏ

What Youโ€™ll Doโ€ฏ

  • Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using CAD software from sketches, layouts, and/or notes provided by engineers.โ€ฏ
  • Collaborates directly with engineers to arrive at designs/solutions.
  • Reviews drawings for correctness and conformance to standards.โ€ฏ
  • Participateโ€ฏin ongoing process improvement and best practices development.โ€ฏ
  • Support prototyping effortsโ€ฏthrough modeling.
  • Document pain points and areas for improvement.โ€ฏ

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

Whatโ€ฏYou'll Bringโ€ฏโ€ฏ

  • 2โ€“5 years of CAD modeling experience.
  • Proficiency in engineering CAD software (Onshape experience is a plus).
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and manufacturability considerationsโ€ฏ
  • Experience reviewingโ€ฏmodels andโ€ฏdrawings and providing feedbackโ€ฏ
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsersโ€ฏ
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-taskโ€ฏ
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesโ€ฏ
  • Some programming knowledge (a plus)โ€ฏ
  • Ability to diagnose issuesโ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Some familiarity with 3D printing processes (preferred)โ€ฏ
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervisionโ€ฏin order toโ€ฏmeet deadlinesโ€ฏ
