Job description

CAD Drafter – MEP

Dallas, TX

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our growing engineering team in Dallas, TX. This role will support engineers and project teams by preparing detailed construction drawings and layouts for commercial building projects. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting MEP systems using AutoCAD and Revit and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Use AutoCAD and Revit software to develop and revise construction drawings
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for:
    • Fire Protection systems
    • Plumbing systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Power, lighting, and signal systems
  • Draft detailed multi-view drawings from sketches, markups, and engineering direction
  • Support engineers with design documentation and drawing coordination
  • Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation
  • Assist with updating drafting standards and procedures
  • Coordinate revisions and updates throughout project lifecycles

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate Degree from a technical school or equivalent experience/training
  • Minimum 2 years of industry-related drafting experience
  • Strong understanding of drafting techniques and commercial MEP systems
  • Proficiency with:
    • AutoCAD MEP
    • Revit (2013–2017)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting commercial building projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project teams
  • Experience managing production drawing files and standards
