Job description

The Design Engineer is a highly skilled and motivated engineer that can design harsh environment connectors, cable assemblies and hull penetrators for subsea applications. The design engineer will take the design from concept modeling to production ready prints and support the manufacturing of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with customers (internal and external) to develop and document complex products for harsh subsea environment applications that meet performance requirements at the expected product cost, project budget and timeline. 

  • Construct prototypes and confirm designs with the quality department and purchasing team. Work with Engineering colleagues on tooling and manufacturing equipment and processes.  Work with manufacturing on initial build and ensure goals for reliability and compliance are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain product details, drawings, and assembly instructions utilizing engineering and MRP software tools. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of design engineering work experience of technical products preferred.
  • Proficient with SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software and 2D drafting and mechanical design and  MS Office.
  • Accurate and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer collaboration and relationship growth.
  • Ability to work across various departments to support collaborative business outcomes.
  • Must have demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments.
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and to work both independently and as part of team.
  • Able to travel on occasion to domestic and global customer locations.
