Summary:

Credit part-time, adjunct faculty teaching positions will teach, lecture and instruct laboratory coursework in various CAD and CAD-related curriculum. This teaching position requires knowledge of basic drafting skills as it relates to traditional drafting equipment with a strong emphasis on Computer-Aided Design/Drafting in the Mechanical Design industry. Candidate will have experience, knowledge, and understanding of the most current version of CAD design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks. Knowledge of Mechanical Drawing and Detailing (orthographic projection, multi-view drawings, isometric drafting, sectioning, auxiliary views, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing, annotation, and assemblies), 3D Parametric Modeling, Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Processes.

Credit adjunct leads teaching discussions in the topics listed above. Candidates should have experience extending beyond theoretical knowledge into practical usage and understanding of core Computer Aided Design/Drafting components, manufacturing, and overall mechanical design process. Credentials you will teach will include certificate programs, specialized diplomas, associate's degree candidates, and students continuing to complete a four-year program.

Classes include morning, afternoon and/or evening schedules and will require laboratory preparation time in addition to lecture time.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in a related area from a regionally accredited college or university required.

Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of recent, relevant professional work experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks in both 2D and 3D applications as they apply to various Industry areas. Computer and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of print reading and technical math required. Experience in CNC Technology, Robotics, Inspection, Metrology or CAM/CIM would be helpful.

Some form of academic instruction at the college level, including associate's degree level or above would be desirable but not required in lieu of experience. Ability to convey basic concepts to students following a prescribed curriculum is necessary.

The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department and the College. Please understand that there may not presently be an adjunct position available at the time of your application.
