About the Role

H2sOlutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our team in Lakeland, FL.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning concepts, field measurements, sketches, and project requirements into clear, accurate technical drawings. The CAD Designer will support our sales, operations, service, and project teams by creating drawings and documentation for municipal, utility, and industrial projects.
Our work includes chemical feed systems, process equipment, flow measurement, instrumentation, industrial control skids, control panels, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and engineered project support. The right person for this role will be organized, curious, and committed to producing quality work that helps our team serve customers well.
Key Responsibilities

  • Create and revise CAD drawings for equipment layouts, skid layouts, piping layouts, industrial control skids, panels, brackets, mounts, and project-specific designs.
  • Turn sketches, notes, measurements, photos, and project requirements into accurate technical drawings.
  • Support submittal packages, O&M manuals, fabrication drawings, and project documentation.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, service, and project teams to understand project needs and drawing requirements.
  • Assist with drawings for municipal, utility, and industrial projects involving chemical feed, process equipment, instrumentation, flow measurement, industrial control skids, and controls.
  • Review customer specifications, plans, and technical documents to support design accuracy.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, revision history, templates, standards, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, fabricators, and internal team members as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement by helping develop drawing standards, templates, and repeatable design processes.
  • Assist with basic BOMs, cut sheets, part references, and documentation needed for production or project execution.
Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar design software preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, measurements, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, piping, equipment layouts, fabrication, control panels, or industrial control skids preferred.
  • Experience in water/wastewater, industrial process, manufacturing, fabrication, automation, instrumentation, or controls is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization and file management skills.
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions when details are unclear.
