Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Applications Product Lead with expertise in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to support the customer. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between customer business users and the technical team, driving the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and implementation of requirements for CAD system enhancements and maintenance. Local candidates with strong business analysis skills and CAD expertise are highly preferred.

Location: Brooklyn, New York, NY (Local candidates only)

Job Type: Full-Time - Hybrid

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with customer's business users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for the CAD system.
  • Perform detailed requirements analysis to ensure alignment with customer's operational needs and public safety objectives.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive requirement specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Track and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring traceability and clarity.
  • Propose and design solutions to address business needs, balancing usability, performance, and technical feasibility.
  • Coordinate with developers, testers, and other technical team members to ensure requirements are accurately translated into system changes or enhancements.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), including developing test scenarios, supporting testing efforts, and ensuring solutions meet customer's expectations.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for users to support the adoption of system changes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to optimize CAD system functionality.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Stay informed on CAD system trends, public safety requirements, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 12 years of experience or an Associates degree and 14 years of experience or a Masters degree and 10 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 16 years of experience. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a related field,
  • Experience working on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems or public safety applications
  • In-depth knowledge of CAD systems, preferably within emergency services or public safety environments
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements
  • Proven ability to coordinate with developers, testers, and end users to implement, validate, and refine application changes
  • Must be based in the New York City area and available for on-site work as needed by the customer
  • Proficient in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other requirements management platforms
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies in high-paced, mission-critical environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, business users, and senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP, Agile, or Scrum

  • Understanding of public safety operations and compliance requirements

  • Experience working with New York City government agencies or public sector clients

  • Exposure to change management practices or delivering end-user training for critical software systems

  • Background in user interface design or conducting usability testing for CAD or other operational applications

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
