Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Oklahoma City, OK office as a drafter.

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will utilize computer-aided drafting and other compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects with a goal to develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities by executing drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager.

Work includes drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring and connection requirements. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing drafting work manually or by use of a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods, procedures and techniques.
  • Using a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
  • Preparing as-built drawings from red-line copies.
  • Preparing error-free revisions of preexisting CADD files.
  • Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction, handling material supplies and other similar work.

Minimum Requirements: College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-aided drafting/design field. Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills, proven excellent level of interpersonal skills, and ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detailed oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information and proven ability to exercise independent judgment. Occasional travel/driving may be required. Successful applicant is subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
