Job Description:

The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.  Team is seeking an Electronic Packaging Designer to work with a cross-functional team to assist development, design, and implementation of radar systems.  The position will follow the product from conceptualization through hardware integration and test, as well as modifying current products.  The position will interface with multi-disciplined engineers, Thermal/Structural Analysts, and occasionally customer counterparts. The position will require utilizing CAD and PDM software to prepare and publish detailed drawings with proper tolerances/dimensions/notes, as well as generating drawing templates and drafting aides in conformance with company standards. 

Essential Functions:

  • Create CAD models of custom machined parts and assemblies
  • Conceptualize new design solutions
  • Document design requirements with fully-defined engineering drawings
  • Research COTS components for suitability to requirements
  • Update documentation per engineering direction
  • Create drawings for Circuit Card Assemblies, electrical cables, & other electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Mastery of CAD modeling best-practices
  • Strong 3D visualization aptitude
  • Proficient with CAD softwares; Solidworks and/or CREO
  • Clear & concise verbal and written communication
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products       
  • Perform trade studies between design alternatives
  • Physical Requirements (such as ability to move up to 20 lbs.)
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications: 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Competency in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)     
  • Excellent people skills, collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Experience in metal fabrication processes
