Title:ย CAD Drafterย

POSITION CONCEPT

The CAD Drafter is responsible for creating and maintaining distribution standards, drawings, and technical documents that support the engineering design and construction of the electric distribution system. Develops drawings ranging from standard to complex and ensures all documentation ensures line personnel safety while advancing system reliability and resiliency.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Apply advanced drafting skills and principles to create, revise, maintain, and archive the Distribution Engineering Technical Manual (DETM), General Rules and Specifications (GR&S) for both Overhead and Underground, Tampa Electric Material Specifications (TEMS), and the approved material catalog (AMC). 60%
  1. Review and interpret redlined and marked-up documents to create or update associated drawings and standards in a timely manner. 15%
  1. Review engineering work and markups to ensure construction designs are accurate and compliant with all applicable codes, including the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).15%
  1. Review, interpret, and meet all deadlines associated with requests received from the Standards & Strategy Council (S&SC), the weekly Standards Meeting, and other required forums. 10%

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Associate's degree in Computer Design (CAD) or Equivalent CAD Drafting Certification

Preferred: Associate's degree in Engineering Technology

Experience

Required: 3 years of experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Required: AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Preferred: MicroStation Bentley Software Suite ย
