Job description

Bill Carr Surveys, Inc. is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician who takes pride in producing accurate work and enjoys supporting fast-moving construction and land-surveying projects. In this role, your CAD expertise will directly support field crews and project teams by turning survey data, plans, and technical information into clear, reliable deliverables. What You'll Do Prepare, revise, and quality-check survey and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, survey data, and related project information. Perform survey research and prepare stakeout calculations and other field-support information. Work closely with field crews, project staff, and clients to coordinate technical information and project needs. Prepare plotting sets, electronic submissions, CAD files, and project closeout deliverables. Help maintain organized CAD standards, templates, electronic archives, and quality-control procedures. Stay current with relevant CAD technology and industry practices and recommend practical improvements.

What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED. Five or more years of related CAD experience, including experience supporting land-surveying or construction projects. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and computer-aided drafting practices. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and consistently produce accurate, detail-oriented work. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to collaborate in an on-site team environment.

A Plus, But Not Required Associate's or bachelor's degree in land surveying, civil engineering, drafting, or a related field. Experience with Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD LISP routines, or other relevant CAD software. Knowledge of construction development, land surveying, GPS coordination, drones, aerial or hydrographic mapping, or BIM models. Experience working with survey instrumentation data, including scanners and total stations.

Compensation & Benefits $30.00 per hour. $12.50 biweekly cell phone stipend. Paid Time Off. 401(k). Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Medical and dental benefits.
