Job description

Golden State Water Company is one of the largest investor-owned water utilities in the United States. JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Performs drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD® based on verbal instructions or sketches provided by Engineers
• Assists in ensuring that all plans are prepared in accordance with Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Drawings, Drafting Standards and Approved Material List.
• Assists Engineers in preparing exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, project status reports, project schedules.
• Prepares as-built plans of completed projects and updates system maps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology preferred.
• Two years of CAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design required.
• Experience in the design of water distribution, storage and supply facilities is highly desirable.
• Effective typing, written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to read engineering plans and maps.
• AutoCAD® certification(s) preferred.
• Proficiency with GIS applications utilizing AutoCAD® Map preferred.
May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.
