Job description

Road Ranger is looking for an experienced CAD Drafter.
This position is responsible for performing site layout design, building layout design, and graphic design for the construction of new travel centers and the renovation of existing travel centers throughout the Company's network.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare site plans, building plans, equipment plans/details and elevations using AutoCAD LT, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Prepare bid packages for third party review and bidding process.
  • Design and prepare sign layout packages and building/sign/canopy graphic layouts.
  • Incorporate needs, ideas and concepts of numerous departments (e.g. Operations, Marketing, Construction, etc.), individuals, and government agencies in all design concepts.
  • Perform field measurements (pre-construction and as-built) and incorporate/reflect field conditions in drawings.
  • Develop/maintain/modify equipment lists on a site specific and project specific basis.
  • As required and designated, order and track delivery of selected equipment pieces for projects.
  • Consolidate and organize digital files into updated file management system.
  • Prepare drawings for executive management's review and consideration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • 1 to 3 years' experience or educational equivalent working with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some college education in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with truck stops, travel centers, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, and/or petroleum is preferred.
  • Experience with Revit is preferred.
Other Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of commercial building construction, commercial site construction, petroleum construction, and related projects.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must be able to pay strict attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously.
  • Highly analytical with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other department and government agencies to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Results Orientation: Demonstrates a sense of urgency to overcome obstacles and achieve measurable results. Resourceful and driven. Strong planning and organizing abilities are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel for Company business as required, valid driver's license.
