Job Description
• Participate in onsite facility evaluations and collaborate with engineers and field operational teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools.
• Develop and update electrical layout plans, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control panel designs for natural gas distribution facilities such as compressor stations, metering stations, and pipeline installations.
• Review and incorporate markups, redlines, and revisions into drawings as directed by the engineering team.
• Select materials and prepare material lists based on standards, specifications, operation requirements and engineers' direction.
• Perform calculations including electrical load calculations, conduit and electrical system sizing, and equipment capacity.
• Ensure design drawings meet Company specifications, regulatory and safety requirements.
• Assist Engineers with resolving any electrical design issues and developing effective solutions.
Requirements
• Associate's degree in design and CAD technology and a minimum of three or more years' CAD experience within the utility industry.
• American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel is required.
• Proficient with Adobe/BlueBeam is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• The ability to stay up to date with the latest developments in electrical systems and best practices.
• Valid drivers' license and ability to travel to remote work locations.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
