Job description

Responsibilities
  • Act as technical representation for quality management system across organization
  • Cultivate and champion the quality mindset across disciplines
  • Develop, Execute, and maintain manufacturing quality processes
  • Achieve quality system objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews
  • Prepare and complete action plans
  • Implement production, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Identify and resolve problems

  • Develop and maintain quality systems and procedures for inspection, testing, and final product evaluation
  • Effectively work with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems; review 2D drawings and ensure accuracy is maintained from 3D models
  • Interface and collaborate with supply chain, program management, and engineering to ensure materials and product requirements are met
  • Initiate and manage nonconformances from root cause analysis to implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Develop quality assurance plans as part of the business development process by analyzing drawings and specifications, outlining tasks and identifying potential deficiencies, conducting risk analyses (DFMEA/PFMEA), and generally providing the quality perspective from the proposal phase to post award
Validate Quality Processes
  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating plans, procedures, processes which support high quality and efficiency in the producing of a service or product
Product Test Development
  • Provide expertise in the development of product test, laboratory equipment, or processes to meet the growth opportunities where alternate testing or evaluation might be required for a customer product
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead transformational change and improvement

Managerial Duties
  • Execute personnel‑related activities to include:
    • Create realistic and accurate job descriptions for your team
    • Direct employee workload to ensure productivity and performance against job description
    • Engage to manage positive employee relations and workplace atmosphere; work to resolve any conflicts
    • Conduct ongoing feedback – both informal and semiannual feedback, counseling for improvement if necessary
    • Advise management as to which employees deserve recognition including but not limited to raises, promotions and awards
    • Manage accuracy of employee timecards
    • Ensure employees receive and perform any required training for both position and company needs
  • Guide employees to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies/processes
  • Serve as link between upper management and employees; disseminate company information as appropriate – goals/changes/updates/news
  • Co‑ordinate with Director and/or VP on corporate matters
  • Other managerial duties as assigned
Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
Experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of process control, quality measurement systems, lean manufacturing and how a quality management system supports the organization
  • Experience with inspection tools such as CMM, Faro arm, gages, mylar prints, etc.
  • Experience in statistical process control, GD&T, design for manufacture, process optimization and continuous improvement. Experience with Six sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus
  • Able to work complex technical problems and institute solutions across the organization
  • Able to achieve results individually, without significant supervision, and as a member of a team
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communicator with the ability to prepare and present quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
Physical Requirements
  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary

The projected salary range for this position is $100,000–115,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
