Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for operating the CAD system that automatically cuts upholstery fabric.

Position Details

  • Enter patterns and fabrics into the CAD system as required
  • Produce markers applying frames to fabrics as required
  • Print out markers in miniature, laminate, and file in proper place
  • Record all markers and yardage's in the main frame computer system
  • Pull markers as required for the schedule
  • Work with cutters on marker layouts
  • Work with CAD Cutter Set-up Operator on markers and any layout problems that arise
  • Communicate to Lead Person and/or Supervisor any problems with patterns, software, hardware or the system
  • Work on special project assignments related to fabric yield
  • Help with marking spot points and cutting new market swatches
  • Assist with demonstrating the CAD System to tour groups
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Supervisor
  • Rotiatin Day shift - 36 hours weekly, M-T-W 7 am to 7:30 pm, or Th-F-S 7am to 7:30pm, rotating every 4 weeks

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Position requires at least 1 year of experience with CAD program
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and computer aided design systems related to pattern designs
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, etc.
