This roleis under the projectleaderhierarchy andfocuses onconsumer outdoor products, collaborating closely withvarious new product developmentengineeringgroups, sourcing, quality, product management, and global manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership overmultiplelowto moderately complexengineering projects

  • Drivedeveloping comprehensive plansand schedulesto meet projectmilestones

  • Able to coordinate project planning efforts for low to moderate complexity projects.Identifycritical path tasks and project risks with supervision

  • Monitor &track project progress and provideregularstatus updates to senior management and project teamon schedule, cost, and risks

  • Frame up and leadtechnicaltradeoff discussionswith product management and other cross functional teams thatfocus onCost, Schedule, and Performanceimpact

  • Timely andappropriate escalationof project developments or issues

  • Applies a good understanding of theProduct Development Processfrom conception through product launch. Anticipates engineering deliverables in all phases. Clearly understands the philosophies behind the variousPDPphasesand canobjectivelydeterminethe maturity level of a designanddevelopment process

  • Interpret data and make corresponding design recommendations including but not limited to:

  • Utilizationof computer aided simulation tools

  • Selectionof materials and heat treatments

  • Tolerance stacks and deviation analysis

  • Statics and dynamics

  • Noise and vibrationanalysis

  • lnteractwith suppliers to develop part and product specifications that meet performance/costrequirements while falling within process capabilities.

  • Work cross-functionally and globally with Quality & Reliability Engineering,Manufacturing,Purchasing, Finance,Product Management, andnumerousother departmentstodrive completion of project tasks

  • Coordinatequalification testing to ensuresafety, durability, and performance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of SciencedegreeinEngineering

  • Minimum4years of experience inrelatedfield

  • Experience in managinglow to moderatelycomplex product development projects.

  • Strong understanding ofelectromechanicalsystems, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Results driven and deadline orientated. Ability to manageseveral simultaneousprojectstoaggressive schedules and results. Ability to handle fast paced, and agile culture. Ability to adapt to constant change and competing priorities.

  • Excellent problem identification and resolution skills

  • Knowledge of DFMA, cost modeling, teardown benchmarking, and root cause analysis techniques

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.

  • Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications

  • Familiarity with CAD and project management tools.

  • Up to10%internationaltravel isrequired.
