Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talentedSystems Engineerto join our team!

In this role you will get to use your CAD design and knowledge management expertise to produce and control high-quality engineering drawings and site documentation for a complex, geographically distributed mission program.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and maintain CAD-based engineering drawings and layouts, including equipment rooms, rack elevations, cabling, power distribution, and required network diagrams.
  • Prepare deployment-ready drawing packages with appropriate title blocks, revision history, and adherence to program drafting standards.
  • Convert site surveys and field notes into accurate "as-built" drawings, incorporating photos, measurements, and field engineering feedback.
  • Build and maintain structured knowledge repositories for drawings, build packages, installation guides, and troubleshooting references.
  • Define and apply metadata and tagging standards so engineering documents are searchable, traceable, and linked to configuration baselines and changes.
  • Support systems engineering activities for physical deployments (space, power, cooling, cabling) and participate in technical and deployment readiness reviews.
  • Maintain CAD templates and documentation quality checklists to ensure consistent standards, revision control, and audit-ready document traceability across deployments.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 7+years of relevant experience
  • Experience in systems engineering, deployment engineering, or documentation engineering with significant CAD responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with at least one CAD tool (e.g., AutoCAD, DraftSight, Revit, SolidWorks).
  • Demonstrated experience producing equipment room layouts, rack elevations, cabling/power schematics, and site "as-built" documentation.
  • Strong knowledge management and documentation control skills, including building and maintaining structured repositories and document workflows across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring All Levels:

  • Experience with data center/telecom room documentation: MDF/IDF layouts, patch panels, fiber/copper standards.
  • Familiarity with configuration management practices and controlled document libraries (revisioning, baselines, audits).
  • Experience using documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence/SharePoint) and integrating diagrams/drawings with knowledge bases.
  • Familiarity with labeling standards (TIA/EIA) and structured cabling best practices.
  • Experience supporting distributed site deployments and working from site surveys and field engineering feedback.
