Job description

As an Associate CAD Designer, you will be responsible for completing basic level Design/Drafting assignments by following prescribed procedures and standards. Prepares design layouts and product configurations of components using primarily Inventor 3D solid modeling. Evaluate quotes for accuracy and that they meet basic design standards.

Reporting directly to the Design Engineering Manager, this position is based at our plant in Parsons, Tennessee*.

Major Accountability:

  • Provide accurate submittal drawings.
  • Meet all on-time metrics regarding submittal drawing turnaround.
  • Evaluate quotes and have fixed to meet basic design standards.
  • Work closely with CAD II and CAD III designers for advanced learning.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Create Submittal drawings using Inventor 3D software and/or AutoCAD 2D software.
  • Learn how to evaluate quotes for accuracy and work with CSR accordingly.
  • Use tracking software to log daily work completed.
  • Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking.
  • Clearly communicates the results and underlying risks involved with their efforts.
  • Performs other relevant duties or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Inventor 3D design and/or AutoCAD 2D software.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Ability to perform basic design drafting tasks via standard drawing techniques under close supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of a variety of raw materials, including plastics, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices; ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Completion of training required by the safety/training matrix within 6 months, or within time constraints set by regulations.
  • Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required, by company policy, for the job being performed.
