We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intern to join our dynamic team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of mechanical design and engineering. The ideal candidate will assist in various projects, contributing to the development of innovative solutions while enhancing their skills in design software and project execution.

As part of Racemark’s Engineering Aftermarket division, a Pattern Taker's primary responsibility is to gather a requested automotive floor mat pattern based on our internally defined process and direction. The Pattern Taker's schedule will be determined based on their own availability to collect the requested pattern by the Aftermarket team at a predetermined location. Collected patterns are submitted to the Aftermarket CAD Engineer for processing and approval.

Prefer candidate able to work afternoon shifts.

Main Objectives:

  • Research and locate local dealers with available floor mats from the patterns needed list.
  • Locates cars with original car floor mats and traces the shapes.
  • Follows detailed instructions for accurate pattern taking.
  • Maintains accurate records of pattern taking.
  • Pattern will be traced or taken with a Pattern Taking kit.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, or a related field.
  • Able to use a mobile phone or device to take photos, to text, and to email.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft word, excel, and outlook.
  • Able to self-organize and solve problems quickly.
  • Effectively manages time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Builds strong relationships and works collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Adapts to changing situations, circumstances, and audiences.
  • Comfortable using/reading ruler (metric and US standard)
  • Ability to build direct relationships with major dealerships, car leasing businesses, etc.
  • Ability to use CAD software and create a successful CAD drawing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and technologies related to mechanical design.

Transportation is key. Mileage will be reimbursed based on company guidelines when traveling to get a requested/resourced pattern.
