The Company:

ADVICS manufactures caliper disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control units and Electronic Parking Brakes for most of the world’s major auto makers. We have been located in Lebanon, Ohio (just North of Kings Island) for over 30 years and proudly employ 1000 amazing team members. 

The Role: 

The Toolmaker is responsible for set-up, operation and maintenance of machines such as Surface Grinder, CNC Milling Machine, CNC Machining Center (ProtoTRAK), Lathe and other associated Toolroom equipment with an emphasis on CNC Milling.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Machines parts according to blueprints, CAD and working drawings holding tolerances to +/- 0.025mm.
  • Analyzes specifications and selects proper material to be used to make parts, fixtures and special tools.
  • Assists in design, modification, or making of parts, fixtures and special tools.
  • Maintains and properly uses precision measuring equipment.
  • Collaborates with different teams to resolve issues and improve processes; interacts with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist with purchase orders, equipment purchases and repair planning.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Possibly works overtime on a daily and/or weekend basis based on company needs.

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM, AUTO CAD; Mastercam is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of milling various metals, heat treating/welding principles and their effects on materials and parts design.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, CAD or schedule form.
