Job description

Gerkin Windows & Doors, located in South Sioux City, NE, is currently seeking a skilled Window Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of our window and door products. This role works closely with engineering, production, quality, and sales teams to create practical, manufacturable, and high-quality solutions that meet customer and company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop window and door products, components, and assembly processes

  • Create and revise drawings, specifications, and bills of materials

  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are efficient and manufacturable

  • Support product testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Review product performance, materials, and compliance standards

  • Assist with cost reduction, process improvement, and product standardization

  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and change records

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred

  • Experience in window, door, building products, or manufacturing design preferred

  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCad, SolidWorks, or similar programs

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
