Civil CAD Drafter

Pay: Based on Experience (DOE)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Civil CAD Drafter to join a growing engineering team supporting utility and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest. This role is ideal for an experienced drafter with a background in AutoCAD Civil 3D who enjoys working collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project managers to produce high-quality construction drawings and permit packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project drawings during planning and design phases. 
  • Develop permit drawing sets, including plans, profiles, elevations, sections, details, and notes. 
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Technicians to meet project deadlines. 
  • Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. 
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of drawing files for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Understand and apply client-specific CAD standards and requirements. 
  • Coordinate project schedules and drawing deliverables. 
  • Assist with additional drafting and design tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in AutoCAD Drafting or equivalent work experience. 
  • 1–5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience. 
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. 
  • MDOT and MicroStation experience is a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of industry drafting standards and practices. 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Outlook. 

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based. 
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and project documentation. 
  • Occasional field work or travel as needed.
