Job Title: CAD Engineering Designer

Reports To: Vice President

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary: Creates technical drawings and blueprints from engineer/architect sketches using AutoCAD to specify dimensions, materials and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Create detailed technical drawings and blueprints using CAD software

· Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements

· Review and modify existing drawings as necessary (site changes, design revisions or field engineer

feedback)

· Ensure accuracy and adherence to design specifications (building codes, safety regs and zoning laws)

· Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications

· Incorporate feedback and make revisions based on project needs

· Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency/efficiency in drawing production

· Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technology

Qualifications:

2yrs minimum drafting experience. Degree or course experience in technical design. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A A.) in computer-aided drafting, engineering technology or related field; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding construction techniques, material requirements and structural details.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SolidWorks etc)., design software; internet software; and estimating software.
